The actor we are talking about is the son of South Star and has given several hits and blockbusters. Though there was a time when he 'lacked confidence, memory power, fighting, and dancing skills, he is now a superstar. He is none other than Suriya.
After completing his B.Com from Loyola College, he didn’t want to do films and thus joined a garment factory In an interview with The Hindu, Suriya said, "I joined a garment export firm and was doing extremely well." He revealed in the same interview that he got Rs 750 as his first salary, however, soon his boss identified him and he later quit his job as he found work monotonous.
At the age of 22, he finally made his debut with Nerukku Ner, however, the film failed to make a mark at the box office. But this didn’t let him give up and thus he landed his breakthrough role in 2001 with the movie Nandha. His first commercial success came with the thriller Kaakha Kaakha. After this, the actor went on to give several award-winning performances in films like Pithamgan, Perazhagan, Ghajini, Vaaranam Aayiram, Singham, Jai Bhim, and Soorarai Pottru among others.
He is now become a pan-India star and according to News18, he charges up to Rs 45 crore per film. Not only this, he lives a luxurious lifestyle and is counted amongst one of the highest-paid, richest Tamil actors. He reportedly has a whopping net worth of Rs 300 crore. He owns a lavish house in Mumbai which is worth Rs 70 crore and also has a swanky collection of cars.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Suriya will be next seen in the movie Kanguva. Helmed by Koratala Siva and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati, The film stars Suriya in dual role, alongside Bobby Deol and Disha Patani (in their debuts in Tamil cinema). The film also stars Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar, and B. S. Avinash and is scheduled to release this year.
