    The newly elected members of the BJP-led NDA are scheduled to meet today to elect Narendra Modi as their leader (prime minister). After Modi's election as the NDA leader, prominent NDA members—Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, among others—are probably going to accompany Modi to the President to submit the list of MPs who back him and assert his claim to form the government.

    The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) overwhelmingly approved a resolution on Wednesday designating Narendra Modi as their party's nominee for leader for a third time.

    The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance - which won 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha election to push past the majority mark of 272.

    The NDA leaders met at PM Modi's home to examine the outcome of the election and deliberate on the formation of the government. Leaders of the Telugu Desam Party Chandrababu Naidu and Janata Dal Nitish Kumar were to be part of the trip. The BJP's coalition needs their combined 28 seats to remain afloat.

      The oath taking ceremony of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu has been pushed to June 12 (Wednesday) instead of June 9,  TDP national spokesperson Prem Kumar Jain told ANI.
